My Sunday reset is a crucial part of staying organized. Sometimes I’ll start some of this on Friday night if I’m feeling pretty energetic. Usually I’ll do a few of these things on Saturday because usually I just want to rest on Sunday.
I learned quickly as a mama that the more I’m prepared, the better I can do this thing! I try to stay prepared for different areas of my life. We live in Charleston and we’re prone to hurricanes each fall and I try to be prepared. We eat 3 meals a day so I try to be prepared with meal planning and prepping. Doing my Sunday reset each week, helps keep me feeling well prepared for the week ahead.
My Sunday reset is a huge factor in me having a healthy mental state as well. There have been weeks over the years where I’ve procrastinated. I end up feeling completely rushed and flustered all week! My stress levels are up the entire week. This affects the quality of my sleep, blood pressure, attitude…every aspect of my life. I now try to make my Sunday reset a priority! These are in no actual order. I usually just do them when I feel like it or happen to be in the vicinity of my house where they get done.
11 Sunday Reset Items To Get Your Week Started Right!
I take several supplements each day. Some of them are just in the morning, some just at night. Several of my supplements are for morning and night. It started to be a pain each morning and each night to remember which ones to grab. I’d have to reread all the labels to remember what I was supposed to take. I finally had enough and just grabbed some half pint mason jars. I’ve labeled them morning and night. All I have to do is grab my jar and go. It’s simple.
Make My Shake Jars
I have a protein shake for breakfast every morning. Before I started making my jars, I would have to drag out half my kitchen to make one every morning. Now I just grab my half pint mason jars and add my protein powder and superfood mix. I just have to dump one in the blender with some almond or raw milk and frozen strawberries. It makes having a quick breakfast easy.
While I strive to meal plan on a monthly basis, it doesn’t always happen. Even when I do my monthly meal plan, sometimes it has to be tweaked in the middle of the month. Something may have come up and I need to swap out a crock pot meal if I won’t have time to cook for a night. I make sure this is complete before Monday rolls around. Any time I don’t, we have a lot of take out.
I prefer grocery delivery instead of actually going into the store. It saves me so much time. I do a lot of bulk grocery shopping through Azure Standard as well. I buy my quinoa, oats, baking goods, cacao nibs & powder, practically all my pantry items from Azure Standard. It’s a much more economical way for me to get organic and non-gmo foods! Weekly, I’ll get fresh produce and meat from the store. I get our raw dairy products from the farmer’s market.
Make My Salads & Meal Prep
In an effort to eat better, I’ve been trying to eat more vegetables. One easy way for me to do that is to eat more salads. Hubby will grill up some chicken breast over the weekend for them. I like a big salad for lunch so I found these great 6 cup containers for my salads so I can really fill them and me up. I will also do some meal planning for the week for the family.
I’ll cook some quinoa, roast some veggies, have hubby grill up some meat. I’ll usually bake up a batch of muffins for a quick snack or breakfast. Sometimes, I’ll brown up some ground beef or sear up some beef if I’m making a stew in the crock pot later in the week. I’ll also prep lots of salad fixings so we can have salad with dinner too.
Wash My Sheets
Nothing makes me happier on a Sunday night than climbing in bed with clean sheets. After I’ve done a little pampering and soaking in a hot tub, it feels amazing!!
Finish Up Laundry
Who wants to start the week with laundry staring at you? I don’t. I tend to do a load about every day or every other day but I want to make sure before I go to bed on Sunday night that all our laundry is finished.
Tidy Up My House
I try to go to bed each night with a clean sink and a decent looking house. The FlyLady method is my preferred way to keep my house clean. I go over my FlyLady list over the weekend to make sure I have my list for the week complete.
Set My Outfits For The Week
I’ve recently started working on a personal uniform. It has made a huge difference in my morning! I have created a couple uniform sets for the basic different things I do in my life. It doesn’t matter if I’m meeting clients, running errands, working in the yard or just in the house, I have a set for each one of them. I just check my calendar to see what I have going on that week and set my clothes out accordingly.
Have A Date With My Planner
This is probably one of the most critical steps of my Sunday reset! It’s also one of the first things I usually work on. Setting up my week in my planner allows me to see if I need to make any meal changes, what clothes I need to pick out, and make sure hubby and I are on the same page for the week. I want to make sure we both know where to be for the week.
I’ve recently heard that self care isn’t a hot bath but a hot epsom salt bath with some of my favorite essential oils does wonders for me! I get to relax and put on one of my cloth masks. I lock the door so the villagers won’t barge in. It’s time for me to just be.
